Us

I was living so confidently in
black and white when you appeared
in my life with vibrant colors that
painted a new light into my life.

You painted the landscape with
a tender touch of your hand;
the hills seemed to have a new
gleam of green within the fields.

The touch of your lips painted red
onto the roses that seemed so dull;
with just another kiss from you, I
felt the sparks deep inside of me.

With your lyrical voice, you painted
your name onto my heart forever;
with each thing you say to me, I became
as vibrant as the sunset you painted.

Black and white seemed so nice until
you brought these emotions into my life
filled with the colors of love and beauty,
you created a new possibility called "us."

    Wow! I'm speechless... this poem is beautiful and magical, about the sweetest type of love... the kind that brightens everything around you... the type that makes you see light and everything beautifully...

    "I was living so confidently in
    black and white when you appeared
    in my life with vibrant colors that
    painted a new light into my life."

    >> the opening stanza was very well-written, you showed us how your life was in black and white but changed when this person appeared in your life with vibrant colors painted.

    "The touch of your lips painted red
    onto the roses that seemed so dull;
    with just another kiss from you, I
    felt the sparks deep inside of me."

    >> also beautiful, I love the comparison of lips to roses, it was sweet and I could envision the lovely descriptions and metaphors.

    "With your lyrical voice, you painted
    your name onto my heart forever;
    with each thing you say to me, I became
    as vibrant as the sunset you painted."

    >> I agree with TJ, this stanza was my favorite as well... I love every word, it was like a musical song, I can imagine it being sung so softly and gently!

    The final stanza was also a beautiful and perfect ending... This poem was so lovely, I need to add it as a favorite!

    Well done! =)
