Love was in the air

by Bobbie   Feb 16, 2012

With all words already said and every thought well-known
Still feel to express myself again in the same gentle tone
No need explaining my tender feelings in this poetic style
It must be because expressing this love has slept a while

Giving your horizons a new window, so colorful and bright
When you stepped out of that comfort zone into the light
Peeling prejudice, shyness, shame like a redundant skin
Opening more than just your heart, by others called a sin

New feelings popped up, frightening due to the unknown
Cutting through your mind in love, seduction to the bone
Butterflies embraced in the abdomen longing for the fire
Slowly opening up while exploring this new love for hire

Transformed and then growing against a contrary wind
Increasing doubts and desire, in vain hoping for a hint
Struggling with both joy and pain, real life and dreams
Realizing slowly what a secret love at distance means

Surely these feelings as lovers are basically still the same
Yet no longer explored to the soul, but locked in a frame
Called experience of life, sweet memories in a jewel box
The most sensitive thoughts carefully secured with locks

Yet I'm glad you came into my life to show me your love
Unconditionally giving yourself away, finally too tough
Can't see in the crystal ball what future to us may bring
Wandering through my empty castle, but still your king
