Love behind Walls

by Bobbie   Oct 24, 2016

I conquered new and unknown land on my voyage to your soul
Amazed by the wealth of your soil while reaching for my goal
With unexpected earthquakes and volcanoes blowing us away
I placed my flying banner in your heart assuming then to stay

You followed me with bright eyes into an adventurous ride
Opening your heart as wide as possible, nothing else to hide
Shaken to the bottom of your soul when looking inside
You knew and doubted at the same time that this was right

We explored ourselves and the borders of the one beloved
Found new talents and strange feelings no longer cuffed
We exposed ourselves to shameless levels without any fears
Complete confidence and blind belief combined with tears

We walked the edge of our limits holding each other tight
While deep inside the magma blazed being wrong or right
Purple clouds and autumn rains tried to wake us up in vain
On the rhythm of our passion we kept dancing in the rain

And one moment though you realized the need to save yourself
From a great yet impossible love and to take care of your health
The fire of love was burning now instead of giving strength
We realized unwillingly our love had reached a final length

It seems so strange as I know our feelings haven't changed
Yet as a safety measure a new relationship had to be arranged
The deepest feelings blocked and locked up behind new walls
Through your eyes I can still see that light as drkness falls

I do not want this poem to end like that candle in the wind
Nor do I accept the unspoken opinion that we have sinned
It was all so good, it came with laughter, emotions and lust
So you'll always be my silent lover, my best friend to trust
