You dont know the real me

You look at me and see a girl
who lives in a perfect world.
Don't believe that's all there is to see,
or you will never know the real me.

I smile through a thousand tears,
Inside I suffer a thousand fears.
I dream of everything I will never be,
and wait in insecurity.

I hide myself in a pretend world,
and never let anyone in.
All my life it's been like the real me,
was outside of me looking in.

You can't change my heart,
or my mind,
it's just the way I feel inside.
