Mrs. Cleaver - a lovely shapeshifter

by Daisy if you do   Feb 29, 2012

When morning breaks
and day begins
My tired old frame
weary from sleep
shall take the transformation
to a beautiful June...
Cleaver that is,
where merriment of
kids, cooking, and errands
are hand in hand
With plenty of time
for needlepoint,
cake decorating,
and entertaining.
Magically spotless floors
and endless chores completed
come to fruition.
Still having time
to pluck weeds from my garden
in high heels and pearls

Challenge to write a poem about a day in the life of a shape shifter. What do you shift to?

    Kay,*

You placed this in the humor section and while it did give me a smile I don't think this poem will get as much attention as it deserves. I found this piece had a lot more to it rather than just the smile it gave, the concept was intriguing. Of course you took this prompt and did something amazing with it, not what I expected at all when I gave this prompt.

This poem is definitely a reminder of how we don't have enough hours in a day to get things done!
I love how you incorporated what you'd want to get done and the fact you mention crafts, that's something I can relate to, I have so many craft hobbies that I feel I'd never be able to hone them all.

    Still having time
to pluck weeds from my garden
    in high heels and pearls

That was my favourite part, wouldn't it be lovely? This part reminded me of how as women we have so much more effort we're meant to go to in order to get ready while men have it easy, chuck on a shirt and wash their faces lol.
