Contest

It isn't fair
I feel like
A lonely hair
I miss the end of your fingertips
At the back of my hips
I miss the warmth of your grips
The promises in your lips
My heart has rips
You caused the biggest spilt
When you let our love slip
I'm going down with the ship
The feeling of the words "I love you"
When you spoke them to me
Was accelerating throughout my entire body
I feel like love is something I leaf through
Without meaning to or trying
I can never love for a brief moment
The end can never stop it
And I find myself to a level of grief in disbelief
Sometimes love is a contest
You can't live about
No matter how much you protest
You might have to live without
Because your self-esteem will go down
You'll push for the best
Feeling lost at your quest
To put searching for true love at rest
It will hurt when you confess
It's shattered
The hope in chest
You fight with another
Who might have more to make you smother
They might set you down
The pain you can't express
And you feel so undressed
If only he liked you
And saw not just the outside
But through
Love's a contest
It's a wild west
