I Am But a Freckle

by Glenn G   Mar 17, 2012

In this world's vast size and space
It's hectic rush of an unhealthy pace
With everyone hurryin' from place to place
People upon people fuelin' the rat race
I am but a freckle
A freckle I am
A freckle I'll be
But a big freckle in spite of me

In the world's struggle with hunger, poverty and pollution
With its unending search for a simple solution
With our government supporting moral decay
Legitimizing homosexuals by calling them gay
I am but a freckle
A freckle I am
A freckle I'll be
But a big freckle in spite of me

With teen drug use and violence growing each year
Innocent people trembling from fear
With terrorism on the rise and war at hand
Woman killing woman; man killing man
I am but a freckle
A freckle I am
A freckle I'll be
But a big freckle in spite of me

I am truly just a freckle in a world so large and with so many problems
I will vote, fight and work to improve it even though at times it seems like an overwhelming lost cause
I am but a freckle
A freckle I am
A freckle I'll be
But a big freckle in spite of me
