In the Flame

by Jack Nightengale   Mar 20, 2012

Captivated eyes were easy to amaze,
His hypnotizing dance set them all a blaze,
In came fear like a flood,
As he slaughtered them and spilled more blood.

No place to hide, no one could run,
He continued his dance as the fire begun,
Ghastly screams masked in ember,
No one was left, not a soul to remember.

With a wave of his hand and a flick of his wrist,
He burned the city down as kicked and twist.
Trapped in the sight of his own trance,
Sliding in the blood of his murder dance.

Left with no words, a mystery unknown,
Constantly watching our backs, not getting caught alone,
The beast comes and goes without a name,
Some say you can see him, dancing withing a flame.
