Even the Wind

by Timothy   Mar 26, 2012

A blank look upon your face endures,
A misery in your heart is pure;
Guilt settles in, takes quite a hold,
And your resolve to live again is sold.

We all knew her, we were all friends,
But it's too late now, we can't make amends;
I can tell you it wasn't your fault,
I can beg you to end this self-inflicting assault.

But the truth is, I feel the same as you,
I saw the signs, and knew what she'd been through;
Maybe it wasn't our fault, a thought I usually forgoe,
Sometimes, even the wind fails to blow.
