Just a Prop

by Susan   Apr 19, 2012

The curtain flies away with a sprinkling of glitter like dust,
in that moment I pray you feel my passionate emotional lust.
Rising and falling to thunderous applause appreciation,
while silently I pray for a standing ovation.
But once the lights fade and chatter disappears,
tied to the scenery I am kept for seemingly years.
Bound with beautiful heart strings and a dainty little knot,
while without you my heart is left to merely rot.
I do your bidding and play your every role,
even when it means I sacrifice my soul.
