I am a Writer

by Susan   Apr 20, 2012

I consider myself a writer when I wake in the middle
of the night with an epiphany; or when I hear lines in
my head that somehow I know are meant to on paper be.
Meant for me to hear and meant for me to write; meant
for me to be a willing vessel with all of my able
might. I consider myself a writer when I am drawn to
fill blank screens; and when I compose something that
even I am unsure of exactly what it means. What
something in me knows and something in me can feel;
confirming the voice of this misunderstood being to me
is very real. I consider myself a writer when I
cannot resist the challenge to free write; even when I
feel that I cannot but know I somehow must despite.
But most of all I consider myself a writer when drawn
into pure emotions; knowing that I have to purge it
and get it out despite my resounding notions.
