Falling Gypsy

by Maple Tree   Apr 25, 2012

I watch as your fingers
tap silently upon those
yellow, worn down piano
keys, singing that imaginary
song, that plays in my head.

I have a vision of raindrops
scattering like spiders as
their iridescent web breaks,
falling upon your window pane.

I'm black and blue, a divided
shadow, dancing upon tear
stained paper, waiting for
you to write what my soul,

wishes not to say-

I'm a blessed gypsy
dancing, as that candle
burns in the darkness,
waiting to be forgiven,
for what I might do
tomorrow....

There is something quite peaceful and serene about this poem. The words and flow just put my mind in a state of ease. I think the images are beautiful and I love the sound a piano makes. I wish I could play piano but unfortunately I was not blessed with musical talent.

    A beautiful poem hun,

I was reading this piece when my favorite song came up and as I was reading it made me cry not sure. I love the imagery of this piece, and the use of piano keys. Ironically, I was listening to The rose - piano version. :)

Edit: it made me cry because of how good it sounded when I was reading. Tears joy.
