Clown At My Window

by Maple Tree   Apr 30, 2012

I am the shadow of fire red flame,
cursed, jagged, smiles, lashes of a dame.

Polka dot fringe with pom pom edges,
horns of annoyance hiding in hedges.

I shall make you smile, a child so young and free
tossing around glitter, bouncing you on my knee.

While you sleep I'll pop off my head,
your worst nightmare, while you lay in your bed.

You writhe in fear, a euphoric panic attack
evil is outside your window, with love from a psycho maniac....

What i have always liked about your poems has been how you make your words rhyme and your choice of them. Here is another piece that i feel could be a winner.

Ok, the only clown I was ever kinda freaked out by was the clown from IT the movie - until now lol This poem kinda freaked me out it's awesome. I love the images as they are so descriptive and clear. If I don't sleep tonight I'll know why! My sister is afraid of clowns and so is my niece. It's amazing how people get freaked out by them.

This is such a dark but awesome poem. Loved the rhyming! Thought it was great!!!
