A man of sorrows,a poem

A man of sorrows, a poem

A man of sorrows was he, much grief, he bore for me.
How was I to know his destiny, to hang naked on a tree.
The shame he did despise, the wicked did not put him there, with all their lies.

The Father's will he did do, his enemies he died for, me and you.
His groans and sighs were heard, the God man, the living Word.
Darkness covered the earth that day, the King of Glory, had gone away.

For the joy set before him, the salvation of the lost, he set his face like flint, not caring of the cost.
He told those he loved, back to the Father he would go, in Heaven above.
The rising sun, the morning sky, in the empty tomb, the grave clothes did lie.

With Eve did the deception of Satan grow, how wonderful, to a woman, the risen Lord did show.
What a wonderful God we serve, he reveals himself through his word.

The Lion of Judah will return to the earth, to the land of Israel, the place of his birth.
His salvation he will impart, to his chosen people, those who broke his heart, his love for all believers will never ever part.
One day with him we all will shine, this is the Fathers Will that we will look like Jesus, sons and daughters of the Divine.
