I See The Pictures

by CathyButterflyJC   May 21, 2012

I see the pictures
I see thee pictures
I see these pictures
And they destroy the light
The pictures flash before my mind
When I knew everything was alright
When you told me you loved me
All those times I could get lost in your eyes
They told me there would be no goodbyes
What happened to my paradise
I see the pictures
All that you burned
The picture flashed
The film started up again
Every other thought parted
I saw the memory
In my mind like a card trick
A girl's dreamful flick
The memory was playing out
With the one
I couldn't live without
But now it's done
The love is gone
How can I be strong
When there's so much wrong
All
Gone
Another sting
I see when I placed my hand
Upon yours
And then leaned in
I stammered
With wanting to ask if he didn't mind
But I failed half way through
And told him never mind
But he slide his hand upon mine
I could feel our heart tangle more in a twine
You were so fine
Did you ever read between the lines
And I see my heart skip a beating
Then not returning to the old pace
As I smiled brightly
And you smiled swiftly
And everything was right
Then a slow song started
And our hands never parted
As we stood up
After asking if you wanted to dance
And you asked if I wanted to
Like I never would
We walked to the dance floor
My right hand
Between your hands
Face to face we came to stand
As you let go of my hand
To put your arms around me
I tried to hold onto you tight
I didn't know for this I would have to fight
And then still lose my light
As you lost that sight
Because of these memories
I cry all night
If only I had tried
Instead of with fear
I cried
Doubt unpack
Come back
I still see the pictures
I see the pictures
