Finally

by Maple Tree   May 23, 2012

I'm growing weary these days,
my eyelids are the map of a
twisted road, that has led me

to you-

You see the beauty that has
escaped my golden compact,
and I desperately wonder why.

All these years I've wasted,
anointing my vanity with glittery
fantasies, just a broken soul's illusion...

However-

You refuse to allow me to forget
that i'm truly loved and respected,
and I suppose it's time that I say thank you....

    'I'm growing weary these days,

    to you-'

Lovely imagery. I couldn't stop myself from quoting it. It's beautiful. The 'weary-eyelids-road' connect with each other harmoniously. The first picture that this painted in my mind is of two travelers (perhaps couples) one is driving, the other is sleepy, and the twisting roads wear her out.
But beneath that literal image lies a metaphoric one that it differs from each person.

'fantasy's, just a broken souls illusion...'

fantasy's is possessive, so: fantasies. souls---soul's. Just a minor error I thought I'd point out.

'You refuse to allow me to forget
that i'm truly loved and respected,'
