The Universal Key

by Larry Chamberlin   Jun 6, 2012

Take me through every door,
councils and chambers,
open their secrets;
let no conclave be barred
nor vaults shield evil plots.

Like the President
let me go anywhere
every portal open
without exclusion
however arcane
the matter may be.

Unlock the mysteries
of the cosmos
reveal the solutions
that have evaded science,
religion and philosophy,
even what lies beyond
death's hollow sockets.

Bring to light two things
greater than all of these:
the lockbox containing "me"
and even more important
read aloud the love
written on your heart.

      Actually the poem, in progress, presented its ending in rough form some time back when I was looking at your key avatar.
