Setting Myself Free 05/28/2012

Healing takes time, and time seems to take forever, but hour by hour, day by day, it starts to get easier. The past starts to be the past, instead of the present in your mind.

You start to smile again, and when you laugh it's real.

You start to see the good in life, instead of the bad in the past.

The road doesn't get any shorter, but you don't feel so alone as you walk it anymore.

No one deserves to have the ability to take away someone else's happiness, but it happens every day.

And the only way to gain that back is to forgive the person who wronged you and move past what they have done.

Everyone has to suffer the consequences for their actions, but it's not up to you to do it.

So here it is. I forgive you. I cannot forget what you have done to me, what you are still doing, but i forgive you for doing it.

It may still hurt, and a lot of the time the tears are only seconds away, but where as my hatred gave you power over me, my forgiveness sets me free from you.
