The Room

by dan   Jun 12, 2012

Twelve by twenty-four
a wide plank floor
ceiling
nine feet high
three large windows
one east
one south
one out to the west
each moment of the day
the light let in
by sun
by moon
by stars
by summers highs
by winters lows
together
in unison with light
A place to stand
no where to hide
from a blinding light

This was a nice way of describing the room,
I would like three windows on my room, but just during the day lol.. during the night, I just want to sleep and the light might not let me.

I like the simplicity of this poem, and the way it led towards the light. It created a good scene in my mind. When I think about the light of the moon, I first think of the ocean, I'm not sure why. But the room that I was seeing while I was reading your poem was one near the ocean with the three windows, one in the left, right, and down from the room to see the fishes...

Ohh, can I add one window on the ceiling, to see the stars. Well written.
