To my old pal

by Khalid M Darwish   Jun 15, 2012

My old pal! Oh we were so cruel.
We were both crazy like a fool.
How could you forget that truth,
when we teens were great and smooth?

when it rained and snowed? That's true!
then the sky turned net and blue.
How could you forget those days,
when we spent marvelous holidays?

I still remember how your poetry
was enticing and enchanting as a rosary,
where all birds turned gully and white,
teaching us how love kills fright,

and the way you're talking and walking around
as a twitter of a bird in the holy ground!
Come back! Never let love be oblique!
Let's be young! Let love be unique!

    Nice imagery, good poem, however....

Everything rhymes apart from the last stanza, was this intentional?

Should line 2 read "we were both" rather than "we both were"

Finally, some commas, then no commas, more full stop than needed.

That aside, I enjoyed the read.

    thanks
