Senses of July

by Maple Tree   Jul 4, 2012

Burning coals,
hurting my sanity
with the sweet sounds
of July.

These eyes
are slipping
away, to the
billowy smells
of sugarcane.

Chasing a heart
as pure as a
babies first cry,
I dance to silence
for it's innocence
is a summer, soft rain.

My candle burns
in the hallway,
forgiving yesterday,
the wasteland of tomorrow
will drown in darkness,

someone saved me,
it hurts to breathe
but I remember
that love is my
graceful ending....
