So Long

So Long

I have been here
In this place
For so long it seems
That it seems like a lifetime

Never before
Have I felt so alienated
I'm distraught
Alone amongst the wolves
Of society

I am dragged down
By the lies and the deceit
Of a people who believe that they're better
Than everyone else
These folks just don't care, about anything

I've tried to be kind
But they assume this is weakness
What a mistake they make
They think nothing of the fire they fuel
Nor the wrath that lays beneath
This wounds me

My goal was to find peace and harmony
And build on that
I have given that a chance, but fall short
Will I ever find what I'm looking for
Or is it an illusion?

I want to viable
To live and grow till I'm old

I would like to lay my head down
Knowing that somewhere I've succeeded
And have become someone
That all could be proud of

But it feels like a dream
That is beyond my grasp
So long
Have I waited
Will I pass before this finds fruition?
Does it have to be so long

We are all looking for something to hold on to but with the society of our world, people have lost their minds and the government is about as bad.

This poem mentions "wolves" and it made me think of how wolves act. They only want to make it through. No one cares about morals, prison, murddering.. for many people this is just an escape or even a fetish. It is scary to think of.

We are in a world that doesn't seem to have any realization of what is coming.
