Fire

by Maple Tree   Aug 16, 2012

I can't walk through fire
but I'd give you a thousand
stars,
place them in the corner of your mouth
so that you would smile for me tonight-

because I can't bare to see you
in pain-

these feet of mine would run through fire instead,
just to see you free from darkness,
even if I was your angel,I can't stop
the devil from killing your spirit tonight,

so I'll hold you instead
and let this fire burn
until the last ember
fades to smoke.

Bleck...your poetry makes me so sad :( you have a way of getting to me.

Your last stanza was sooo captivating I absolutely love the wording and "ember" really stood out when rading it.

    Beautiful as always <3

    Very strong poem,

sometimes you can't make the darkness disappear but you can be there for that person and hold her tight through the darkness.

It's always the darkest before the dawn

    Brilliant!
    Some critiques:
'even if I was an angel,I can't stop'
would sound better if you change to
'even if I were your angel, I can't stop'
    (space after comma)
    Nice piece.
