Loon on the Moon

by Maple Tree   Aug 29, 2012

I cant sleep
so here I peep
within a dark ole room.

I hear the sounds
of a ware wolf hound
and a lunatic on a broom.

So off I go
to join the show
crazier than a loon.

For there are times
I should open the blinds
and dance with the dish, and the spoon.

When you can't sleep
because of things that creep
along the walls of your mind,

Write a rhyme
make it chime
secret treasures you shall find.

Ive had enough
of turmoil and stuff
its time I leave the grind.

For the moon is my friend
and sweet letters i'll send
singing songs that make me go blind.

I read the title and burst out laughing...I needed that.

But enough about me, this was like, the best poem I have read...I am serious...ever!

You took something that is playing with your mind, making you feel lost and hopeless and then you just made it funny, and comical, and sweet and WOW...I know you are amazing, but I am still in shock.

I mean, the title made me think it would be a funny poem, but it isn't in the humour section, so I thought, Okay...this could be different.

It's pure magic, its genius, it's so you, so refreshing, so...just WOW

Greatness finds the best of us.
