Hypocrite

by LostWords   Sep 8, 2012

Awaken from this slumber,
amid disquieting dreams.
My night is nearly over
as dreams manifest into reality.

Captive by your own sin,
intrigued with hurting me.
Deeper than the depths of sorrow
you try to ruin me.

Dark am I, yet next
to you I am lovely.
Dragged away and enticed,
you throw me into the sea.

Laying selfishly awake,
my pain keeps you from sleeping.
I'm your ironic distraction
from unyielding misery.
