Sailing in the dark

Tonight I shall sail away
to a world of darkness,
so bid me farewell and
watch me disappear to
the point of no return.

The taunted screams
that escaped to follow
my footsteps were never
vehement enough for me
to turn around; to trace
back the path I once took.

- I cannot erase whats
written, nor can I rewrite
the unknown -

My heart was once your
canvas, your strokes
poetized a new life in its
albescent walls. And your
only diary I always were,
so remember to write me
in your tomorrows.

So into the night I'll sail,
to seal my last goodbye.

I shall remain unread,
forgotten,
departed,
to everyone but you.

    I think I interpreted it in many ways... It's beautiful.

    It can be related to suicidal since you are saying you are leaving this world. But maybe with departure here, you mean through thoughts. You want to have some comfort, but due to pain you cannot erase your memories.

    Sighs..... this reminds me of the song "Come sail away" by Styx.. its a beautiful song but it doesn't compare to the beauty of this piece...

    Loved, loved, loved this....I enjoy that you took "point of no return" which is an expression we all know, and you have focused your whole poem around it! Creating this scene of a sailor, bidding farewell to a life she can't handle any longer.

    This poem does nothing but make me want to give you advice. Set sail for a new horizon. Go conquer dreams that you didn't think were possible. Leave anyone who taunted you behind..

    This is such a great write meme. I really love what you have done here!
