Confession of the Lost One

He lost a part of his soul
back when psychotic
eyes darkened the night.

I never knew what he
was feeling and a part
of me didn't want to take
the time to find out.

It was all about me,
for my broken wings
tormented my iris's
to the point of blindness.

His heart became frost bitten
for chemotherapy has a way
of gutting the brain, depressing
the heart, kissing the night away.

A few years later I have to say
it felt good to hear his
confessions of a lost one's
soul, and finally I realized
we are forever and truly
meant to be in love
with each other....

    Brillant! You are learning to let go and write what you really are thinking about and feeling. It is nice to see you letting this go and not keeping it inside so much, I hope this is helping.

    This poem is very powerful and shows the struggle not only for both individuals but the journey for you both together and how it feels like being on this journey was meant to be and that you wouldnt be without this person.

    The people who know you and your story will be deeply touched by this piece. Your words are incredibly written. Im glad your hubby confessed things to you, it helps you get a better understanding of what you were afraid to know, but need to know, in order to be there for him even more.

    This is incredibly meaningful like the others have said. I loved this.

    ^^this is my favorite stanza! it really shows how much we sometimes focus on ourselves too much that we miss what's going on with our partner.
