Forgotten Sun

by Maple Tree   Oct 10, 2012

Silence betrays
a forgotten sun,
under a moonbeam
of dangling stars.

I've heard the
secrets and scarred
even my own eyesight
so that I may not
bare witness to
the scandal in front
of me, but a whisper
knows the truth.

I'm an owl in the night,
consumed with a feverish
appetite for peace,

but the wolf continues to howl....

It is very creative how you have described all the sky in the first stanza with the sun moon and stars. I liked this.

Your poem is quite powerful, and makes me think deeper as to what you mean by this. It could be many things for us to relate to. The eyes being scarred is very powerful and makes the reader aware that there are things in your life which are hard to see and sometimes you cant cope with seeing them.

    Good work.

I've read this 4 times today and have loved it even more each time I read it!.... reminds me of gossipy voices in the night that you want to escape from....

Loved that you hid your message behind the metaphor of "night life" really. Comparing yourself to the owl and the voice a wolf. Very intriguing! :)
