Elsie

by Maple Tree   Oct 14, 2012

She spoke to me,
within a morbid
whisper she cries,
draped with insecurity,
ashes fall to
the ground,
as stale musk
suffocates
the air.

Persecuted
by ignorance, burned,
sent to the stars for
mother nature to
take her home.

She spoke to me
in the depths of night,
for her blood is my blood,
and I simply can't ignore
her memory,
any longer....

You have no idea how much this poem speaks to me right now, it is very powerful Maple. Your wording is really tear jerking and so many people can put a name and face to your poem.

    Nice work.

This was beautiful and reminded me of my nan, her name was Eva but she had a friend called Elsie...it just made me think of them who have both passed.

You just made me remember one of the most precious people I had had, one that I have lost.

    Heart-wrenching.

By the way, nice use of the word 'draped'.

    Nominated tomorrow, come Monday come!
