The First Tear

by Dominique Lewis   Oct 22, 2012

The first tear is always the worst,
It tells you there are more to come,
It slowly falls and dies on your pale lips,
Or from you rubbing your sleeve straight across.

The love died deep down inside,
When you didn't listen to the words I said.
Pain is what is consuming me,
From that broken heart you caused.

A single tear falls and gives me away,
I tried so hard to fight it,
But it just seemed to come anyway.

With the first tear my cover is blown,
And now everyone knows that I am hurt.
I walk away with more tears to fall,
And leave behind that dreadful river of pain and misery.

I hope you drown in it.

Very nice. The last line was powerful and hard. But it also shows that there is anger under all the pain, and shows that you will hear sooner than later. 5/5

The ending summed it up. Loved the powerful and angry tone of it. Keep it up!
