The Castle

by Maple Tree   Oct 24, 2012

In the darkest dreams of night
beholds a symbolism in truth,
lurking within decayed emotion
and rigor mortis tears.

Numb I've become,
tortured eyes have
seen beyond the angel skin
of your pure escape,
scorching a tasteless
kiss,
one last time.

I am not the victim anymore,
call me the "Digger"
enter my world,
six feet underground,
let us choke on the dust
you left behind, as
we build our fortress
within a demons
nightmare.

You do have a way with the dark poems. This was so good, it flowed really well and fast and yet it was still very eerie feeling. I agree with Chels that I picked up something it represented, like you were in a dark zone and needed to outlet this emotion and thought you had so this is what came out.

Uggh, what a poem! this piece was like a dark haunting film, those ones you want to hide behind a cushion but still feel really intrigued. The dark aspect behind this was evident but I could really see the sadness behind the story, the emotion itself was beautifully incorporated and touched me deeply.

You always manage to pull at me and make me feel everything ten times more than anyone else ever does, amazing.

Creepy creepy, but I love it. Ever since you've challenge me to write a dark poem I've kind of liked them....but anyways. Loved the use of joining "your world" and then stating 6 feet under. Creative.

If you don't get wrapped up in the creepiness of this, you'll detect a sad reality which I did. An ending of something. A person. A relationship.
