No child is born,to die

by The Poet Behind The Poems   Jan 14, 2013

Witnessing a child's first smile is
like finding a diamond in the ocean,
illuminating the darkness of life.

All around the world children are
dying in poverty , disease and abuse,
is there more we could do?.

Each second a mother somewhere
will be burying her heart under rubble
and stone, there smile erased forever.

I leave you with this,go home cuddle
your children tell them there are the most precious thing in your life-
and remember how lucky, you are.

Apparently, I've read this before, because I already rated it. Even though I don't remember. However, this poem really does make me want to cry. There are so many reasons moms should be loving on the little ones that they're blessed with. For my end, the mommies who have healthy babies, and actually got the opportunity to hold their babies, are blessed to never know the feeling that the women who've experience miscarriages are feeling.

    "Each second a mother somewhere
will be burying her heart under rubble
and stone, there smile erased forever."

That gave me chills. "burying her heart under rubble and stone" is very creative. Props. There's a spelling error though. "Their* smile erased forever."

    Good piece.

Wow T, I do not know how I missed this one??

i love it. It is so true that we take for granteed what we have and there is so much poor and ill in the world. We should be more thankful for what we have and appreciate it more.

Your descriptions were very clear and the idea of a childs smile being like a diamond is very special T, it is beautiful and empowering in the fact that if you can make a child smile then you have made a big differnce in the world already.

    Nice job. 5/5

I wonder if you have any children yourself?

The poem was powerful enough for me to assume so but....I think maybe neices/nephews? could be wrong here, of course.

Children are so very precious and it really breaks my heart to think that even one is suffering although I know it to be true...even in countries that are not classed as third world..

critique wise..all I can say is this line was way too long..stuck out like a sore thumb so..maybe split it into two?

your children tell them there are the most precious thing in your life-

otherwise....great message....you know we've had band aid/ live aid....I don't know how many others but....we need so many more to save the children of this world.

The title itself was so powerful. I loved the message you delivered in this piece Tony. Yes, children are the most precious thing in ones life.

And the metaphors you had on the first verse is so breathtaking. There is nothing on earth that can bring pure joy like a child's smile.

    Great piece.
