Gaea

by Timothy   Jan 19, 2013

Erode away the soil, let the nutrients become barren,
Make the meat putrid, and all the livestock carron;
Trash and strip, leave the forests an empty plain,
It's all the property of mankind, but it's a decaying domain.

Pump out the oil, introduce all the ancient carbon,
It fuels society, but is it really such a bargain?
Greenhouse gas, Ozone depletion,
It's nothing but human excretion.

We have come on the scene so very late,
But our mass destruction makes it clear that humanity and Earth do not conjugate;
She has lingered, but now she has taken her fill,
Gaea is no longer still.

    Okay so Gaea from the Greek mythology is an Earth goddess and you are right as humans we are doing so much damage to her! Now she can't take it no more. There is destructions everywhere for humans are not respecting mother earth for her patience! Very well penned!
