A People Of All Colors

It's funny when one comments, a Caucasian bears resemblance
All relate with laughter, comfortably accept its credence

Directed to the African persuasion, all assume on the basis
You religiously hold to one faction, automatically labeled a racist

A sensitive important issue, we have been educated
Not intending to miff, I for one say we get it

Without being repugnant, all must laugh and play
Our children's future depends, emphasize the color grey

An issue through the centuries, have been resurrected
Through time and again, have all been subjected

Shake the hands of, people whom you've greeted
Extend courtesy and respect, as of how you would receive it

Most glorious it be, if all have arrived to finding
The world may one day, adhere to its obligatory bindings

Must come to terms, not dissemble absolution
Learn to live together, build an indomitable cohesion

Still there is that faction, yes unfortunately still exists
But so long as we continue, in our hearts, adamantly persist

I too dream that someday, a people of all colors
Could just sit down, and laugh to one another.
