Coffee Shop

by Maple Tree   Jan 31, 2013

A simple little coffee shop,
loaded with enough caffine
to activate my eyes another day,
lands me in a memory of winter.

Ruby red cotton wrapped snugly,
learning the ins and outs of your smile,
reminded that being innocent
has it's perks- steaming aroma.

It's fine to reminisce about the
good ole days,
however drowning in the sorrows
of blizzards past,
will only make the coffee colder,
snow will fall like rain upon
my shadow, and-

once again, I'll slip on the mittens,
walk away, but this time
I'll smile, embrace the
little coffee shop memory
around the corner,

and beyond....

Coffee really does set you up for the day, and I love the smell of coffee, all different blends when you go into a coffee shop...

I love this piece you've penned because it really does speak of that little pick me up, that little morning life that is so often needed,
and how we are always in a rush and so busy just to stop for a moment and feel that warm aroma...

    Awesome piece
