The Poor, the Rich and the Humanity [String Tankas]

by Khalid M Darwish   Feb 15, 2013

Looking for money?
Money is a good server
but a bad spoiler
Money will not make you glad
Gladness won't make you money

It is not your fault
to be born poor it's your fault
to be dying poor
No pathetic layer more
than that having just money

one with no money
is like a courageous with
a disabled hand
one giving money, showing off
can't help people in darkness

I can't be able -
to deal transcendently with
those poorer than me
or those of less position
but with their humanity

Once compared to mine
it can be times better than
my humanity
People believe that I'm weak
but I can't be someone else

* Each tanka is 5/7/5/7/7

This is very creative; I've never seen a string tanka before. I love the messages behind these and how they combine to create one profound message about, money, poverty, and humility.
