Void (collab)

by Meme & Jordan   Mar 5, 2013

Self malleating mind;
simply politic, lovelorn
longing for logic.
Heart fires, color after
color in pulses lenses
lose focus, foray unknown
to those beaten senseless
by structure. Still conscious,

solitary life becomes
a companion, not a choice.
Frozen enigma in
place of a heart.
Where is the voice echoing
now that reason is lost?

Empty cave, damaged walls
no longer there. A soul lingers
wandering - mist on a still pond.
Dead air and silence mingle,
cry out freedom. No response.
Screams slam on deaf ears.

Unhallowed misfit breaks,
no longer captive to a
certain space; unbound,
freed from all mistakes.
Still straying on an
obvious path, or maybe
aiming to the unknown.

Ive read this about three times...at first I couldnt tell if I liked it...but during the second and third reading I really did.. I think one needs to be careful how the read this piece. If you read it too fast, you misinterpret the tone. You will skip important pauses.
I like that this poem was structured in a way that sentences were more like statements. Quick bullet points to show the frustration.

I also found total sadnes in this piece. Where one is completely lost in this time of solitude and no one reaching out to find them. So they trek this journey alone, realizing thats the only way to carry on, alone. Though, uncertain of where they are going.

Thats what I got out of it and its actually really relatable to me. I've felt this...not this intense, but to where I want to go down a path alone and just see where it leads me, no interuptions, no more crying out for someone to come with me..sometimes we got to do things alone to find out who we are, what are purpose is and where we are meant to be.

    Well done you two!
