Moonshine

by Maple Tree   Mar 6, 2013

Savoring dusk within a night
of tasteless moonshine, dry eyes
and your awkward pick up lines,
I wiped away the fear of running.

Drinking your words as the owl hoots
upon branches, hovering over the dead
of strangers, we wrapped our intoxication
around another jug of forget-me-not's.

I tried to sober the heart of broken dreams,
but the insanity of your truthful soul
brought me to my knees; the night
our whispers made a pact with the
haunting.

The moon pours upon our destiny
like a washing away of fear, cleansed
in pot of coffee and tissues for
my falling ponds of emotion.

That nights was ours, as toes
mated with an earthbound hope of
forever, we walked through the gate
of joy, hand in hand, never to be
thirsty again....

Wow Andrea, this was a total mix of everything, the nature tones that were so beautiful, the love, the sombre sadness, the vivid darkness, it really was a piece that stood out in the mind, the images were strong, the subtle way in which you make everything your own, with that beauty and heart...

    Totally captivating, awesomeness :)
