Cold Hearts

by KaJean   Mar 13, 2013

A single thought lay in the air
A burden so big that I cannot bear
Not once, not twice, but many times before
All dreams shatter and hit the floor

Wake up to a new day
Scared to look back
I'm living with a new sin today
And that is a fact

My cold heart beats
My blood runs cold
Cuts wound deep
Is what I'm told...

Cross my heart and hope to God, I pray
That all of this will just pass and go away
That I'll go to sleep at the end of the day
Knowing that my pain will all vanish away

Wishing that that one presence was near
And not having to live with all of this fear
Why can't all of it just disappear?
So when I see, I'll start to see clear

My cold heart beats
My blood runs cold
Cuts wound deep
Is what I'm told...

Darkness is sin
God is grace
Cold hearts within
Suffer their fate...
