Arrow

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 27, 2013

Do you promise to love all of me,
Can you handle it all?
The darkness, the fear, the tears, the insanity...
How can that really make you fall?
I wear an arrow on my arm
One that bleeds out all the despair
That comes from my self harm
And to you, our love would be unfair.
Breaking you down slowly as it does to me
Eating away at all the things I love about you
Ridding you of all your feelings
Leaving you a cold shell as I am, it's true...
This arrow, a cursed symbol of what I dream of,
Dancing, taunting, the dreams I keep,
Of a reviving, unforgettable, love
That will always be just beyond my reach.
May we be better off this way,
Me alone for the rest of my life,
You with someone who can really make you happy,
Leaving me where I reside amongst the demonized shadows...
Decide now, whisper in the breeze,
Whether you want my arrow, and all of me...

Awh i really love this poem it spoke to me and how i used to be... i thought that no one could love me as i was but then again i was used for beauty for personality but yet they never cared for the girl DEEP inside and after all that they kept breaking me apart this poem is like a part of my old self and this is a good poem with good flow and the tone of the poem is really sad mixed with a slash of hope that love might come and sweep you away Raven good job girl 5/5

Wow, I really liked this poem, it really spoke out to me, wonderful job, this is a true inspiration, really screamed to all who have felt love or thought they did and who have been lied to or misused and trust defeated. I loved reading this poem and I love how well you brought in emotion, fantastic poem.
