My Story

by TheDarkCloudBehindthePoet   Apr 12, 2013

I dedicate this poem right here, this poem goes out to all my brothers and sisters who thought they came up short on there dreams, but let me remind you. You didn't.

On his roller-coaster ride everything seemed great,
Twist and turns, but always going straight,
Having the time of his life, nothing could be better,
until he was derailed, no more rides forever,

What was his next move, he had no clue,
pain, suffering, and depression grew,
Blackness was all he saw, the light slowly faded away,
lost his faith in god, forgetting how to pray,

Cutting was his way of dealing with his pain,
no more smiles or singing in the rain,
But it became addicting, all he saw was red,
running down his pillow was gruesome bloodshed,

Exiling himself from others, not even taking a call,
too ashamed and disappointed, because he was suppose to have it all,
Running in the Olympics, training hard everyday,
now he's killing himself, in the bathroom is where is corpse would lay,

While on the ground an epiphany took place,
he saw that there was a different path to win this race,
Cleaning up his act, he writes poems and helps people with depression,
bestowing to everyone his life's lesson,

When you are knocked off your high horse, don't worry,
It's just a different card you have to play, so don't be in a hurry,
You belong in the stars, reach for them, its not the end,
fly above the limits he says, please transcend.

The one thing I don't have a problem with, is letting people in to my personal life. If it helps someone in anyway, I've done my job. There is always a different way out of a situation. Find that strength in yourself, and pull yourself up by your bootstraps. I promise you will be alright. Even if I have to fight the devil for you, I swear it will be alright.

Gratitude Thomas :) I took myself to that dark place. I felt like a failure when i didn't achieve my goals and I kept beating myself up constantly, until when I was just dying I had a moment of clarity. I love that you can relate and you have very kind words. Thank you

I can relate to this piece except for the self-harming.
Never let others get you down or stop you from doing things you want or believe in.
Death is a permanent answer to a temporary problem. Life always gets better and other people will come into it and make things better.

    Great piece, thanks for sharing!
