Haunted

by Lance Hardy   May 10, 2013

The freezing chill running down
The burning question up above
What could this possibly be
What could it possibly mean
This truth could set us free
Or shackle fiercely with fear
Our only chance to know is now
Can we push aside skepticism...
Pessimism, doubt, but mostly belief?

Decisions, decisions...indecision
Only a moment left to lose
To take that leap of faith
Or drown beneath the wave of regret
It sounds so simple...yet you're not there
It's us, only us...now or never
One of us must press the other
We must be strong, together
A silence can continually eat us away

Happening so fast
Moving so slow
Like our deaths flash before our eyes
If one could hold it perfectly still
Force steady the ticks and tocks
We could figure it all out
What it all means...and what's next
Alas, it's just the whim that remains
A sly whisper of meaningful nothing

Alright...here goes nothing......
"Hi"
