She Didn't Have It Together

by schmetterling   Jun 24, 2013

She trembles
Tears streaming down her face
Another painful day
In which she has to get through
How she managed to wake up today
She doesn't know how.
A broken girl
With a fake smile
No one notices her true feelings
The way she's so numb
That a blade is the only way she feels again.
This girl
Fights an addiction each day
Hoping she doesn't relapse
Doesn't anyone understand.
She doesn't want attention
She just wants to be saved
Her hand gripping the blade again
Take it away.
Her life filled with so many acts
So that she breaks down
And recovery is just farther away.
This girl
That seemed to have it all together
Really didn't have anything straight.
