Washed Away

by Lance Hardy   Jul 12, 2013

The darkened tide washed over the coast
As each cold gust pierced deep my chest
The endless ocean's peaceful call beckoned
To embrace, to erase, to swallow it whole

Deep thoughts swayed with each wave
What was and when...what's now and could
The black of night bore this absolute fantasy
Giving birth to the final moment, presumable salvation

And a ray of light...that magnificent clarity
Took hold my hand and showed my true path
The one destiny had always hidden away
Let my feet stay weighted, and my head kept under
