Shadow Caster

My beautiful weeping willow
There are tears on your pillow.
And the tears are cast for you
On our linen of white and blue.

In the land of broken dreams
Where nothing is as it seems
There are discarded alibis
As truth traded for our lies.

The path you choose to follow
Paved with misery and sorrow
Will not fix your soft leaves
And your branches grieves.

Your bark will toughen up
But your roots need to sup
On soil soft and caressing
As the daily fixed dressing.

The bruises of your bark
Eaten by robin and lark
Won't heal by the morrow
But will take some marrow.

Your heart is eaten away
By the worm and decay
As even you are not aware
Of those who try to care.

The sun tries to find you
But your darkness is true
Although Gray takes brown
Deeper into the ground.

Who can see castled shadow
Or know you in the meadow
When you turn from wind
And the friend from within?
