Sapling.

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 22, 2014

Everybody needs you-
a walk in the woods
is never arbitrary,
for your bedrock is
one of reason.

Yet many seem to trip
over your roots,
complexities they think
are superstition,
after realizing morning
rides on the metro and
stress-filled briefcases
are imperative

to get anywhere in this life.

I know none of your goodbyes
are fake, for you often cradle
seedlings before the sky trembles
and snow crescendos,
nursing them into reality.

Spring is always on my
mind and though easels of you
are rotting in locked boxes,
I will be a guest underneath
leafy branches,

when you resurrect once more.

Used Adreamer's prompts:
Superstition, locked boxes, walk in the woods, fake, goodbyes, always on my mind, everybody needs you

Very creative with your prompts. I like them a lot. You used them very well. I really enjoyed this piece and the slight almost journey you take us on through two contrasting scenes tied in a wonderful little way.
