Two People, Two Differences, One World

by Demitri Von Schnutz   Feb 6, 2014

This is the story of a girl and a boy,
Who's hearts were constantly played with like a toy.
The shared a bunch of similarities,
Her addiction of fire and his love for bombs made out of batteries.

Here's a story of a woman and a man,
That carried their hearts in their hand.
Could never be separated or torn apart,
All they had was love in each others heart.

The boy would get jealous and let it take control,
The girl was still in love with her last and took of like patrol.
The man grew greedy, mean, and selfish, he wanted all,
The woman couldn't believe how deeply he had made her fall.

Though the girl lived a miserable life,
The boy decide to pick up the instead of the knife.
The woman left the man, a simple divorce,
The man didn't realize that she'd take half by force.

The woman gained the man's sick addiction,
The man grew wealthier with no competition.
The girl was married and miserable with three kids, she now watches the news,
A story comes on and find out that the boy had shot himself over a choice she made when he knew he'd lose.

There was no funeral for this kid,
No one even realized what he had did.
But the girl was broken and wish he'd only understand,
That the choices she made, she would change if only he would come back by her side and stand.

I agree with don. This poem is so very good and sad. The story is great. The beginning starts out as a love story as two people come together through tragedy. A lot of people do this they find comfort through another person. Then through out this poem the depression gets worse. I loved the emotions you used through out this. Love, sadness and darkness. The ending is so so sad. No one knew that this kid who fell in love shot himself. Love can be bad and good and I loved how you showed both sides. So good. I'm going to nominate when I can.
