What a State!

What a state our society is in
no respect from the young
crime is on the increase
such abuse from many a tongue

No safety in walking on ones own
one never knows what's around the corner
puts fear in ones heart
oh to be in this world a foreigner

So what can be done?
to change this awful trend
bringing decency back to our globe
for it really needs a mend

But the real problem is man's heart
which is full of sin at ones root
as self rules over everything else
humility and righteousness gets the boot

Only when God rules the heart
can decency again rule our times
oh for real renewal in mankind
to speak true heavenly rhymes
