Twin Dragons

by Jack Nightengale   Apr 21, 2014

There is always pieces that get forgotten in a puzzle,
I used to think that when I looked down my sights at the muzzle.
There is always someone greater in history that we over look,
That's why I stopped reading and put down my history book.

I learned from someone greater than me,
He taught me battle tactics and how to climb a tree.
In war we were unmatched by any enemy,
But, he took a fall for me and that left me empty.

Two dragons that shared the same month, day, and year,
Twins from different wombs whose name would capture any ear.
On the battlefield we were always prepared for a fight,
He were the wings that once gave me flight.

In his absence I fought for him, for his memory,
I carry him close to heart when I face my enemy.
For my twin dragon I claim this victory,
Now excuse me while I continue onwards to glory!

Another great piece! I love your style. I love the magic of imagination and how you can turn anything into a piece of art! That would be one of my favorite types of poetry!
