Dematerialize

by Saerelune   Jun 30, 2014

What if I walked

up-side-down,

shook dust from my sleeping bags
then slept, and snored, like an ocean
beneath a blanket of breezes ...

What if nothing really mattered
but waking up to materialize
before the morning, and decomposing
to the night, like exposing oneself to a lover
who loves you more than himself.

What if love itself was a manifestation
of caffeine-drenched pulses, and all it takes
is a bittersweet glance towards a limping flower
near the window, to realize that the sun seems at ease
everywhere - within skyscrapers, graveyards
and glasses.

Perhaps one day I will wake up
without wallowing in blankets during breakfast,
and thank my cereal for the catharsis.

Saerelune has a beautiful edge to her metaphors and within this poem it caught my attention from start to finish.

Her word usage is captivating, and incredible. She has a gift of creating metaphors and I applaud her within this poem. What is wonderful about this poem is that the metaphors aren't so heavy that you get confused which is what I enjoy, because I caught myself becoming very emotional within reading and that is something that is very hard to do, she topped it off this week.

This is a beautiful metaphorical piece!!!

I have one question: In your 3rd stanza, 2nd line, did you mean to say coffeine or caffeine ?

    Truly a powerful poem here!
